We are members of AdviceUK and we have specialist caseworkers who can assist in many different ways. We can help you claim any benefits to which you are entitled and if you do not know what you are entitled to we can advice you on that.
We have Housing Options caseworkers. The Housing Options Service is for disabled/older people, their relatives and Carers. It provides information and advice on all aspects of Housing whatever your tenure.
Our priority is to help you understand all of your options and help you reach the right decision for your situation.
We can visit you in your own home to talk things through, giving you advice on all of your housing options, which may include:
We can help to fill in the Homefinder Application forms, search for properties each week, and make applications for suitable properties on your behalf.
We can offer practical support with the move, including arranging a removal van, reading meters etc., arranging housing/council tax benefit where appropriate.
We also help with hospital discharge – especially if client is unable to return to property and need help finding alternative accommodation to help prevent “bed-blocking”.
Above all do not be afraid to ask any questions you may have, it costs nothing and couild make a significant difference to your life.

TotalHome 100 is a service that has been developed by Somerset Care & Repair and the works are actually carried out by professional contractors, who we have forged a strong relationship with over many years. We maintain a strong interest in every clients case and all works are ultimately overseen by Care & Repair.
Unfortunately there is a charge and because every job is totally different from the next, you will be given an estimate of the cost of the works before any work commences so you are kept fully informed from start to finish.
For larger or more unusual projects our contractors will make an appointment with you and survey the job in order to give you the best quotation possible.
If the cost given to you is more that you thought it might be; although we try to be very competitive; all you have to do is say 'no'. We are not high pressure sales people and you will not be troubled by the contractor. You may however, receive a follow up call from Care & Repair to see if there is anything else we can do to help you as we do not like to leave you, the client, without the help you have asked us for.

The Woodbin has been set up for two important reasons;
Both of these issues are very important to us and we are working hard to make a real difference. The project has already helped over 20 volunteers from various agencies improve there job prospects by boosting self-esteem, team-work and practical skills. The projects works by collecting excess materials from a range of sources and using them as materials to train our volunteers to make beautiful, bespoke and unusual products we can then retail to cover the costs of the project.
The money we make is used to expand the training opportunities we can offer and we work closely with the DWP, Probation service, Volunteer service and local volunteers to provide as many opportunities as possible for those who need them most.
We are a cheaper, cleaner and greener alternative to using skips and landfill and have already prevented 20 tons of wood and bricks from entering landfill! We re-use, recycle or recreate almost 100% of the materials we collect, from the nails we pull out of pallets to the sawdust created by our machinery, we find a use for it all!
The Woodbin offers a range of products but can also cater for bespoke, made-to-order items, so if you want a new, unusual or out-of-this world item, hand crafted and made to your specification give us a call and our design team will help make it a reality! From beds to coffee tables, benches to speakers, desks to artwork - if you can think of it, we can make it!
The Woodbin survives due to the generosity and help from its volunteers and suppliers and if you have some spare time, some expertise you'd like to share or want to brush up on your DIY skills we would love to have you on board.
We greatly appreciate any help given and are open to new and exciting ideas so if you have a particular skill set that you think you could pass on to others then get in touch. We would love to hear from carpenters, artists, whittlers, anyone with a flair for the creative really. we are looking at running classes in 2016 for female DIY, basic woodwork, creative construction and picture framing so if you would like to get involved let us know.
Alternatively using the Woodbin as your local timber supplier, bespoke furniture maker or present finder would be a great help. The items we make are all unique and made by hand and every sale we make helps to expand it even further and help more people.
